Leukemia Cup Regatta

Hey Sailors,

Only a week away from the biggest sailing event on the Potomac: the Leukemia Cup Regatta! Sabrina has done well in the past in this race, but this will be the first time we have raced in the Spinnaker Class. This should be exciting. Several dozen boats have registered already! I will be auditioning red bikini crewmembers for the race next week, so get ready!

The boat will be hauled and powerwashed Tuesday to make us as quick in the water as possible!

Description: The Cherry Blossom Regatta is an all-class, handicapped regatta.

Spectators can view the races from Washington Sailing Marina and around Hains Point (East Potomac Park).

Sailors: Register with the Director of Daingerfield Island Sailing club, robert_minelli@msn.com. Include your name, the name and type of boat you are sailing, sail number, PHRF rating (if known) and which class you are sailing in.

TO WASHINGTON SAILING MARINA:
There is no Metro or Circulator service near the area.

Thanks for visiting the SSLOG! This idea was recommended by friends who were tired of getting my long-winded emails about our sailing triumphs.
This SSLOG will document the life and times of the Captain and Crew of the sailboat "Sabrina," one of the prettiest boats on the Potomac.
A few words about Sabrina: she is an 30 foot fiberglass sloop designed by the genius yacht designer, Carl Alberg, and built in Canada in 1966 at the Whidby Boat Works. Alberg, as is said by many, was incapable of designing an ugly boat.
The Alberg 30 design is tested and true, with many Alberg 30s crossing oceans or even circumnavigating.
